Elon Musk wants to make Twitter videos pay-per-view

The new feature will allow video creators on the social network to charge users for access.

Twitter’s new owner Elon Musk tasked the team with working on a Paywalled Video feature that would allow people to post videos and charge users to watch them. It was reported by The Washington Post.

It is noted that the video publisher can set the cost of the view in the range from one to ten dollars. Such a message will be displayed with a video logo with a lock and the caption view for $.

By paying this amount, you will unlock the video, while the creator will receive money through Stripe, and Twitter will receive a share of the proceeds. Those who haven’t paid won’t be able to watch the video, but will be able to like or retweet the tweet.

The new service could be launched in a week or two.

It was previously reported that Elon Musk has ordered engineers to work on a reboot of Vine, which could be ready by the end of this year.

Twitter plans to start charging for verification
