The Ukrainian aircraft An-124-100-150 Ruslan delivered a telecommunications satellite on board from Toulouse, France, to the NASA launch and landing site in Titusville, USA, for the aerospace company SpaceX. RBC-Ukraine reported this on Thursday, October 27.

“As long-term users of this type of aircraft, we are pleased to welcome Ruslan back to the sensitive cargo transport market, especially the delivery of satellites to various launch sites. We would like to thank Airbus Defense And Space for their trust in Bollore Logistics’ ability to move critical equipment,” said Bollore Logistics’ project department head, Mark Görann.

The weight of the cargo is 50 tons, including a special container 14.6 m long, 5.4 m wide and 4.2 m high, specially designed by Airbus Defense and Space for the safe movement of these types of satellites.

For loading and unloading the CTH04 container, an external crane was used along with an onboard crane and an An-124-100-150 winch, as well as special loading equipment designed and manufactured by the engineers of Antonov.
