The cost of gas in the European market has fallen below a thousand dollars per thousand cubic meters amid falling demand and a warm autumn.
Over the past month, the price of gas in Europe has fallen eight times, Deputy Minister for European Integration Yaroslav Demchenkov said on Facebook.
According to him, prices fell due to lower demand for gas against the backdrop of almost 100 percent filling of European storage facilities. Also, prices are affected by the continent’s warm winters.
“LNG tankers lined up around European ports, which have nowhere to unload gas. As a result, the price of gas in the EU has fallen eight times in the past month and continues to fall,” said Demchenkov.
He noted that Europe will definitely need this gas when demand grows. Those traders who can buy gas at today’s prices and find somewhere to store it until the cold weather will probably be able to sell it for more in a few weeks, the deputy minister added.
Recall that gas prices fell below one thousand dollars per thousand cubic meters – for the first time since June 14.
