Holding energy intends to build a new energy infrastructure to replace the one destroyed by the invaders.
Rinat Akhmetov’s DTEK company will build new and better energy infrastructure in response to attacks by Russian invaders on energy facilities. This is what DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko said in an interview with Economic Truth.
“I am convinced that the answers to the destruction or acquisition of our businesses will be new – better than before. Obviously, I treat the destruction with pain, like all employees of the company. But there is an internal resistance, tenacity that won’t let you give up,” he said.
In particular, DTEK is considering the possibility of building a wind farm. Today, the company’s entire wind generation is located in the temporarily occupied territories.
“I think this is a Ukrainian feature: you put more pressure on us – we will fight harder and we will be more,” concluded Timchenko.
DTEK also intends to continue investing in green energy despite the war.
It will be remembered that on October 10-11, the Russian invaders carried out a massive blow to the energy infrastructure facilities, which led to a lack of power in the energy system. Power plants and major substations were destroyed. In particular, three DTEK power plants are under shelling. At the same time, Ladyzhynska TPP was fired twice a day.
Due to the lack of energy system capacity in Ukraine, rolling blackouts have started to be introduced.
