The ban on the supply of Russian fertilizers should be included in the new package of EU sanctions, according to the Cabinet.
Ukraine seeks to include an embargo on fertilizers from Russia in the new EU sanctions list. This was announced by the Minister of Economy Yulia Sviridenko, the press service of the department reports.
“We will start through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to include the ban on the purchase of Russian fertilizers in the next package of EU sanctions against the Russian Federation. Europe continues to move in this direction, but still not decisive enough. In our opinion, only a complete ban on Russian exports can stop the war against Ukraine,” said Sviridenko.
Earlier, Russia threatened to refuse to extend the grain agreement if nothing happened on the Russian side of the agreement, especially on the removal of restrictions on the supply of fertilizers.
At the same time, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said earlier that the grain deal would be extended. The UN hopes to extend the agreement by a year.
