On October 23, the award will be presented to the winning company for the purchase of urea, said Prime Minister Anibal Torres.
“As for the purchase of urea, a good pro will be provided on the 23rd of this month who will sell us fertilizer”, – said the chairman of the Council of Ministers at a press conference.
A few days ago, the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri) announced a new appeal for the purchase of fertilizers after three unsuccessful attempts.
The head of Midagri, Patricia Ocampo, assured that buying process will end this month and the reward will be paid within 13 days.
“We followed exactly what the state of emergency decree says. What we have done is follow the procedures in accordance with the international rules, and this allows us to award the award in 13 days, which is much more convenient. The acquisition process is expected to be completed in October. Subsequent transfer [de la urea] This will depend on the distance from the country where it is purchased,” the minister said.
Ocampo assured that they will ensure the transparency of the process and the absence of cases of corruption.
As stated, the winning company of the open tender must supply batch of urea agreed upon at the award stage.
The fertilizer must go into Port of Callaoin bags of 50 kg each, which must have a distinctive marking certifying the concentration of nitrogen and the weight of the product.
