Monobank stopped serving clients from Russia and Belarus

The consequences of Monobank’s management decision will affect more than 11,000 customers in eight countries and territories.

Ukrainian Monobank has ceased to serve clients located in Russia, Belarus, several other countries, as well as in the Crimea and the so -called “republic” of Donbass. This was announced by the bank’s co-founder Oleg Gorokhovsky on the Telegram channel on Monday, April 18.

“From now on, we stop serving customers before the war and still do not leave the following territories: Russia, Belarus, Crimea, LDNR, North Korea, Syria, Eritrea. There are a total of 11,251 people. Accounts will be closed of these people… These are recommended Myr payment system cards, “Gorokhovsky wrote.

He also called on other banks in Ukraine to follow the example of Monobank.

Earlier it was reported that the Cabinet of Ministers approved the nationalization of the assets of Russian banks. The decision to seize the assets of two Russian banks in Ukraine must be approved by the National Security and Defense Council and signed by the president.
