“We appreciate the readiness of the UK to provide our state with the next tranche of $500 million through the World Bank for the purchase of gas. We are also interested in attracting British businesses to the development of gas production in Ukraine. We hope that the UK government will take the necessary decisions to insure British businesses in Ukraine from military risks,” Shmyhal said.
Earlier, Denys Shmyhal admitted that the gas injection plan will not be implemented this year. On the eve of the heating season, the storage facilities will have no more than 15 billion cubic meters of gas.
At the same time, the authorities expect that in the coming heating season, gas consumption will decrease by almost 40% (by 7.7 billion cubic meters) compared to the previous one, at 11.7 billion cubic meters. m.
