The exact time of the plane’s departure is unknown, as it turned on its transponder after passing the Polish border.

The Wizz Air plane, which has been in Lviv for several months, took off from Ukraine and landed in Poland, in Katowice. It was the first time since April 2022 that a commercial aircraft took off from Ukraine on Wednesday, September 14, CNN wrote, citing the Flightradar24 plane tracking service.

Flightradar24 communications director Jan Petchenik confirmed that an A320 HA-LWS aircraft was flying from Lviv to Katowice on Tuesday 13 September.

According to Flightradar24, the plane took off around 11:00.

“The exact time of departure is unknown, as he turned on his transponder after crossing the border with Poland, probably for security reasons,” the agency said.

Although the Airbus A320 is registered to Wizz Air, Petchenik could not confirm whether the carrier operates it.

Petchenik also said that Wizz Air still has three aircraft on the ground in the Ukrainian capital with Hungarian registrations.

Recall that the Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air Abu Dhabi withdrew from the sale on its website that previously provided tickets for flights from Abu Dhabi to Moscow and back.
