Gas has been getting cheaper throughout the week, despite the shutdown of Nord Stream 1. The price has fallen to a one-month low.
The cost of gas on the European market on Friday, September 2, fell below $2,000 per thousand cubic meters – for the first time in two weeks.
The spot gas price at the TTF site in the Netherlands for early delivery is $1,880 per thousand cubic meters, or EUR 182 per MWh.
Gas prices are falling despite the cessation of gas supplies to Europe via Nord Stream 1, which should resume operations tomorrow.
According to Gazprom’s estimates, gas demand will decrease by 40 billion cubic meters in 2022.
Gas is becoming cheaper because European countries filled storage facilities on average 80%, although this indicator was only planned for November.
