A glass of emollient, a classic drink at low temperatures, sells for an average of SGD 1.50, but according to emollients, the cost should be much higher.

General Secretary National Federation of Emolienteros and Allied Workers of Peru (FENTEP)Edgar Saenz commented to RPP that it is currently being sold at this price just to survive.

“He has changed a lot (price). We used to sell it at S/1, now most sell it at S/1.50 and it should cost twice as much because all the products we buy have gone up too much,” he said. commented on RPP

Saenz said emollient owners dare not raise prices further because they take into account the lack of work and income faced by the population.

Similarly, the representative points out that before emollients They offered a full breakfast to the public from S/2 to S/3.80, but now you can spend more than double that.

“With one sol you bought bread, and with the other emollient, or with three sols you already bought two loaves and had a good breakfast. Now it’s S/10,” he said.

The FENTEP secretary estimates that there are more than 100,000 emollient owners nationally, but he elaborates that 10% went bankrupt this year because the price they sell their products does not cover the costs they incur.

“The truth is that the situation we are facing is very critical, all the products we sell are up 100%, so in order to keep selling the price, we set it to S / 1.50, but we are almost nothing make money,” he said. .

Saenz added that emolienteros are currently only earning S/25 to S/30 a day and warns that if high inflation continues, 30% of the total emolienteros could go bankrupt.
