In August, the population of Ukraine sold cash and non-cash money in the amount of $1,366.8 million (equivalent) and bought $1,473.4 million. This is confirmed by data on the website of the National Bank on Friday, September 2.
Thus, the net purchase of foreign currency last month amounted to $106.6 million. And this means that in August, for the first time since the beginning of the war, Ukrainians bought more money than they sold.
In total, since the beginning of 2022, the population sold currencies in the amount of $8,909.1 million and bought $8,358.8 million. Net sales totaled $550.3 million.
