Washington gave Ukraine the first tranche of $4.5 billion in non-refundable aid.
The state budget of Ukraine received a $3 billion grant from the United States, Prime Minister Denys Shmygal announced on Wednesday, August 24.
“Today, another $3 billion non-refundable aid grant from the United States was received in the state budget through the mechanism of the World Bank,” he wrote.
The Prime Minister noted that this is the first tranche of $4.5 billion that Ukraine has received for direct budget support.
As reported, US President Joe Biden, on behalf of all Americans, congratulated the people of Ukraine on Independence Day and announced the allocation of a new $2.98 billion military aid package to Kyiv.
