This year, only farmers of the Lugansk region did not go to field work. Because of the war, up to 30% of agricultural land may remain unsown.
The sowing campaign in Ukraine has not only begun in one region – in Lugansk. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
“We help farmers, we give them concessional financing for UAH 3.5 billion. At the meeting, a decision was made to simplify the registration of agricultural machinery as much as possible,” he said.
According to forecasts of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, according to the pessimistic scenario, 70% of agricultural land can be planted this year in Ukraine.
It was previously reported that 1.07 million hectares of land have already been sown in Ukraine, which is 7.9% of the 13.44 million hectares planned for the current season. So far, the sowing campaign is ahead of last year’s pace.
