Washington decided to give Ukraine a $3 billion gift for Independence Day.
On Independence Day, Wednesday, August 24, Ukraine will receive a $3 billion grant from the United States. This was announced by the Minister of Finance Sergei Marchenko.
“The funds will come through the mechanism of the World Bank. The grant aid is a significant gift to our country on the Independence Day of Ukraine,” he wrote on social networks.
Earlier, Marchenko announced more than $5 billion in foreign aid to Ukraine in August, compared to $1.7 billion in July and $4.4 billion in June.
As of August 18, Ukraine received less than a billion dollars in aid in August.
According to the Ministry of Finance, since the beginning of the Russian invasion, Ukraine has already received $14 billion from Western partners, and another $14-16 billion is expected by the end of the year.
