Ukraine broke the agreement with Russia on measures to ensure parallel operation of the energy systems of the two countries. This was announced on Tuesday, August 23, by the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk.
According to this agreement, Ukraine and Russia will jointly ensure the proper technical condition of the electricity grids, as well as coordinate the planning and management of parallel operation modes of the unified energy system.

Recall that Ukraine was disconnected from the energy system of Russia and Belarus on February 24 – the day of the Russian invasion. On March 16, Ukraine was connected to the European energy system.
And on June 27, the European network of system operators for electricity transmission ENTSO-E agreed to start the commercial export of the first 100 MW in Europe. In less than two months, Ukraine has earned almost 2 billion hryvnias in electricity exports to the EU.
