For the ninth consecutive week, international reference fuel prices fell 3.96%, confirmed Peruvian Organization of Consumers and Users (Opecu) through the international reference price report.
A drop of 3.96% per gallon occurred for petroleum-derived fuels, but in the case of LPG, the decrease was 3.16% per kilogram. The price reduction is valid this week from Monday, August 15 to Sunday, August 21, 2022.
“Prices have dropped again today. international fuel standard up to S/ 0.40 or 3.96% per gallonand LPG at S/0.08 or 3.16% per kilogram, Osinergmin said today. This is the ninth consecutive week of falling prices, the fluctuations of which must be fully and timely transmitted by manufacturers, importers, wholesale distributors to cranes and service stations throughout the country. This is fair and just,” said Opecu President Hector Plate Canepa.
Nonetheless, These “incomplete and late” consumer cancellations “are not consistent with consumer relationships or suitable commercial transactions, and companies will be subject to the appropriate sanctioning administrative procedures.. Indecopi must ensure that the rights of economic interests of consumers in the country are adequately protected,” said Plate Canepa.
