The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the arrival of the first ship in Ravenna with a cargo of corn and soybeans.
The first cargo ship with corn and soybeans from Ukraine arrived in the Italian town of Ravenna. This was announced on Twitter Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“We are very pleased with the arrival of the first ship from Ukraine to Ravenna with a cargo of corn and soybeans. Italy supports all possible efforts aimed at food security in the world and the Mediterranean and the implementation of the Export Agreement of Butil, which supports the resistance of Kyiv,” wrote the Italian Foreign Ministry.
Also, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine on Saturday, August 13, reported that the first ship, after the start of a full-scale attack on Russia that entered Ukrainian ports, left the port of Chornomorsk.
“This morning, the bulk carrier FULMAR S (under the flag of Barbados) sailed to Turkey. The ship joined the caravan with the bulk carrier THOE,” the Ukrainian agency reported.
According to him, the two ships had a total of 14.5 thousand tons of agricultural products on board.
In total, according to the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, in the course of the initiative for the safe export of grain, 16 ships left Ukrainian ports with 450,000 tons of agricultural products.
The bulk carrier FULMAR S arrived in Ukraine on August 6 to load grain, becoming the first such vessel since the start of a full-scale Russian invasion.
The agreement between Russia and Ukraine was not mutually concluded; instead, each of the parties signed a separate document with Turkey and the UN. Less than a day after the signing of the agreement, Russia launched a missile attack on the port of Odessa.
