French financial conglomerate Societe Generale has stopped banking and insurance activities in Russia. Its main asset Rosbank will be sold, according to a statement dated April 11.
“Societe Generale ceased its banking and insurance activities in Russia and announced the signing of a sale and purchase agreement for the sale of its entire stake in Rosbank and Russian subsidiaries of group insurance companies Interros Capitalthe former shareholder Rosbank ” – says the company.
It was noted that thanks to this agreement, “the group is effectively and smoothly leaving Russia, ensuring continuity for its employees and customers.”
After the completion of the transaction, the terms of which are not disclosed, Societe Generale will cease its activities in the Russian Federation.
Emphasizes that the agreement must be approved by the relevant regulatory and antimonopoly authorities.
