Ukrtransnafta stopped transporting Russian oil on August 4 due to problems receiving payment.
Russian Transneft announced on Wednesday, August 10, the resumption of oil transit through Ukraine.
“The pumps are working, they are turned on at 16:00, reaching the operating pressure mode within 15 minutes,” said Igor Demin, adviser to the president of Transneft.
“Oil is already flowing back to Slovakia through the Druzhba pipeline, and deliveries are expected to resume in Hungary tomorrow. As promised, crude oil has begun to be delivered to the southern part of the pipeline,” said a spokesperson for the Slovak company.
It was noted that the fees paid will be paid to the Russian side as part of the mutual lending.
The previous day, Transneft said that Ukrtransnafta had stopped the transfer of Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline due to problems with receiving payment. The Ukrainian company did not comment on the situation.
