The football club is launching a unique NFT project to sell part of the Donbass Arena field in electronic format.
Rinat Akhmetov’s Shakhtar football club has become a partner of the UNITED24 presidential project, the FC press service reported on Monday, August 8.
The club launched the international Pitch In For Ukraine project to raise funds to help Ukrainians.
“We use every opportunity to raise money for people who need it. Pitch In For Ukraine is an ambitious humanitarian project where we hope to gather more resources to help Ukraine, Ukrainian children and all those affected by Russian military invasion,” – said the club’s general director Sergey Palkin.
Participants in the Pitch In For Ukraine project will receive a reward in the form of a PoP (Pixel of Pitch – “field pixel”) – a part of the Donbass Arena field in occupied Ukrainian Donetsk in a digital image format.
A total of 154,000 PoPs are available based on six elective tiers of voluntary contributions starting at £15. This PoP will have the name of the person who purchased it and a unique number along with exclusive fan content for the 2022/23 football season.
Funds raised through the Pitch In For Ukraine program will be used for humanitarian aid and support for war-affected Ukrainians and IDPs.
The funds will be used directly for the needs of President Volodymyr Zelensky’s UNITED24 Foundation, as well as the Shakhtar Social, Saving Lives and KSE foundations.
