Since the beginning of the war, SCM enterprises and the Akhmetov Foundation have been helping the military and Ukrainians affected by the war.
SCM businesses, the Shakhtar football club and the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation have donated UAH 3 billion to help Ukraine and Ukrainians since the beginning of the Russian invasion, according to the SCM website on Friday, August 5.
“The Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, the National Police and other power units continue to receive ammunition, cars, drones, special technical equipment (thermal imagers, rangefinders, cameras, etc. .), forts, clothes and shoes, first-aid kits and turnstiles, walkie-talkies, fuel and other things they need,” the company said.
In particular, Metinvest provided 100 vehicles and 150 drones to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in July. DTEK RES equipped one of the military units with a solar power plant. And FC Shakhtar donated 750 helmets and 1,500 first-aid kits to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
In turn, the Akhmetov Foundation donated more than 600,000 units of medicines and more than 60,000 containers of blood to the people of Ukraine. Also, food packages continue to be given to Ukrainians. The Fund’s priority direction is to support migrants and residents of front-line regions.
In addition, the Foundation fills the museum “Voices of the Peaceful”, the largest archive of Ukrainian testimonies about the events of the war with Russia. More than 30 thousand stories of people who suffered from the actions of the invaders have been collected.
Also, Akhmetov’s businesses help displaced employees return to normal life – resettlement is carried out, courses are created for retraining personnel, and new jobs are opened. Thousands of internally displaced people have already received new jobs in SCM businesses.
It should be noted that within a week the Akhmetov Foundation delivered humanitarian aid to three new regions – Kirovograd and Cherkasy regions, as well as to Vinnitsa.
