In the first three months of the war, financial aid to Ukraine was not enough to cover all costs.
Since the beginning of summer, the amount of financial aid to Ukraine has increased. This was said by the Deputy Head of the NBU Serhiy Nikolaychuk in a call to investors organized by Morgan Stanley.
“Since June, the flow of international aid to Ukraine has accelerated. We hope that these rates will continue in the future,” he said.
The NBU noted that financial support helps to overcome the challenges of the military for the financial sector, whose spending has grown significantly, especially for defense and social needs.
The financial aid also eases pressure on Ukraine’s international reserves.
According to the NBU, as of July 22, since the start of the conflict, Ukraine has received $12.7 billion in Western financial aid.
At the same time, last week the European Investment Bank decided to allocate 1.59 billion euros of financial assistance to Ukraine. And the other day, the EU transferred one billion euros to Ukraine.
