The Cabinet of Ministers is discussing the possibility of introducing an additional customs duty, Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko said in an interview with UNIAN.
“We are now discussing this issue. Such an initiative cannot be called an additional customs duty, it may be a separate military tax. Or an additional fee for foreign exchange operations for the purchase of imported goods .There is no final concept, therefore, when and in what form the payment will be introduced.“It is too early to say,” said the minister.
Marchenko noted that Ukraine is beginning to improve the dynamics of tax and customs revenues. If in March receipts from customs were UAH 7 billion, then in July it was more than UAH 22 billion, and this is more than 56% of the planned pre-war figures.
Earlier, the Ministry of Finance announced a sharp reduction in the state budget deficit – in July it reached UAH 4.8 billion against UAH 134.9 billion in June. Since the beginning of the year, the deficit has reached UAH 412 billion.
And the Verkhovna Rada announced a sharp increase in budget revenues. In July, the general fund received UAH 64 billion, which is 61.9% (UAH 24.5 billion) more than in July 2021.
