It is noted that this reserve guarantees that during wartime heating, Ukrainian thermal power plants will have enough fuel to continuously provide electricity to the military, household consumers, hospitals, equipment, etc.
“In accordance with the special duties assigned by the government, Ukrenergo will provide Ukrvuhil State Enterprise with an interest-free loan of UAH 2.5 billion to purchase coal at a market price,” the company said.
In this regard, Ukrvuhil will need to purchase fuel and send it for storage.
“Priority will be given to domestic coal production to support Ukrainian miners,” Ukrenergo insisted.
Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers announced the most difficult heating season. At the same time, Ukraine has already prepared 1.5 million tons of coal. The government plans to increase coal reserves to 2 million tons by the beginning of winter.
