While Ukraine controls only nine power units out of three nuclear power plants, Zaporozhye is occupied.
Energoatom is ready to launch all 15 power units of nuclear power plants in the winter, the head of the company Petr Kotin said on the air of Ukrainian radio on Wednesday, July 27.

At the same time, he explained the situation at the largest nuclear power plant in Ukraine, Zaporozhye, which was taken over by the invaders. Right now, it is operating at only half capacity due to damage to power lines.
“Everything depends on the end of the conflict. If we free the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and resume the operation of the damaged lines, we will be able to work with all six power units at ZNPP,” said Kotin.
The remaining nine power units of the three nuclear power plants are ready to operate at full capacity, he assured.
Recall that for the first time Ukraine’s nuclear power generation reached full capacity last winter.
