Military losses, increased military and social spending, economic and business losses are now estimated at $ 565 billion, the prime minister said.
The state budget of Ukraine is losing approximately 2 billion hryvnia every day due to the war unleashed by Russia. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmygal in an interview for Novoye Vremya, published on Monday, April 4th.
“Now, if we talk about the calculations of the Ministry of Finance for budget losses, the losses of Ukraine are approximately 2 billion hryvnias a day. 119 billion dollars. That is, 4.25 billion dollars in one day, ”Shmyhal said.
According to him, if you add military losses and increased military and social spending, support programs, economic and business losses, then you have to negotiate the amount of 565 billion dollars.
“I don’t want to split it into days. The losses are definitely huge. But we must be optimistic, we will recover at the same speed. I am sure of it,” the prime minister added.
It will be recalled that in the first quarter of 2022, Ukraine’s GDP dropped by 16% compared to the same period last year. Industries where remote work is impossible have suffered the most, the Ministry of Economy asserted.
At the same time, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) believes that Ukraine’s economy will grow sharply next year if the war with Russia ends in the next two months.
