Ukraine used more than half of its gas reserves during the heating season, but the balance was higher than expected.

Ukraine has completed the heating season, the head of the Ministry of Energy German Galushchenko described it as successful, RBC-Ukraine wrote on Wednesday, April 6.

He said that because of the war he could not provide specific data on energy reserves.

“But I will say this – there is more than a million tons of coal, and more than 9 billion cubic meters of gas,” Galushchenko said.

“Unfortunately, the last 40 days of the war were, of course, a test for the energy system. But we can confidently say that the forecasts of the so -called” experts “who spoke about the inevitable failure of the weather, to put it mildly, it didn’t happen, ”the minister added.

Thus, Ukraine used more than half of its gas reserves – at the beginning of the heating season, there were 18.7 billion cubic meters of gas in storage.

At the same time, the Cabinet expects Ukraine to end the heating season with gas reserves of at least 7 billion cubic meters.
