Growth in sales of new cars continues in Ukraine

In total, 17.8 thousand new cars received their first registration numbers in January-June.

According to the results of June, registrations of new passenger vehicles in Ukraine reached 2.9 thousand units. This is 14% higher than in May this year, but three times (or 67%) lower than the same month last year. This was reported by the association Ukravtoprom.

Toyota was the leader of the month in registration of 456 cars, which is 11% more than in May 2022 (but 2.8 times less than in June 2021).

Second place is owned by Renault, which increased sales by 14% in May 2021 (but decreased threefold in June 2021) to 327 units.

The third most popular brand is the German brand Volkswagen, whose new cars were bought by 263 Ukrainians – 56% more than in May.

Hyundai had the fourth result – 172 units, which is 7% more than in May, and closed the top five in June with a 10% drop Skoda (in May it was third in the ranking), whose car was chosen by 168 buyers.

Next in the ranking is Mitsubishi with 162 car registrations (in June 2021, 10th place with 367 cars), BMW with 120 cars (13th place with 260 units), Nissan with 102 car registrations (391 cars a year earlier and 6 place) and Mercedes with 94 units. (14th place with 248 cars).

The bestseller of the month was the Renault Duster with 168 registrations.

In total, in January-June, 17.8 thousand new cars received their first registration numbers, which is 2.7 times less than in the first half of 2021.

It should be noted that in 2021 the market for new passenger vehicles in Ukraine grew by 21% to 103.3 thousand units.

Earlier it was learned that in May, sales of new cars in Russia fell almost five times compared to the same period last year. The current level of car sales in the country has fallen to the level of the 70s of the last century.
