Ipsos: 79% of Peruvians think the economic situation is worse with Pedro Castillo

Most Peruvians believe the economy is worse than it was 12 months ago.

79% of Peruvians, almost eight out of 10, believe that economic situation countries are worse off today than they were 12 months ago, a recent Ipsos poll shows.

The national survey shows that for most Peruvian75%, the actions of the government of Pedro Castillo have a negative impact on the economy and employment.

Only 20% think that executive branch works to improve the economy and the labor situation of Peruvians.

In this regard, the report ipsos indicates that respondents are asking the government to prioritize issues related to the economy.

More than 30% say this year’s priorities should be to create jobs, revive the economy, control inflation, raise the cost of living and reduce poverty.

For 14% it is necessary to promote the construction of infrastructure, 13% ask to solve social conflicts and 8% believe that work needs to be done to reduce informality.

Mining

In the mining sector, 61% of respondents indicated that President Castillo’s government allows or encourages social conflicts that paralyze mining.

Only 21% of respondents believe that the executive branch promotes the extraction and export of minerals.

In addition, 82% Peruvian consulted by Ipsos indicated that they do not approve of community members resorting to violence to demand more benefits. 11% agreed with the protests.
