“Freight transportation, which is a major source of the company’s revenue, was reduced by 65.3%, nearly 6,300 km of tracks were destroyed by the enemy. At the same time, railway workers evacuated 3.7 million passengers when free of charge, delivered nearly 97,000 tons of humanitarian aid, ” – he wrote.
The minister said that since the beginning of the war, UAH 10 billion has been sent to the company’s accounts.
“The monthly cost of the company has reached more than UAH 7 billion, since the company has reduced operating costs by 30% since March,” he wrote.
Kubrakov explained the increase in tariffs by the fact that state support is not enough to finance UZ.
“In addition to losing a significant portion of freight and passenger traffic, the costs of restoring railroad infrastructure, which the enemy continues to destroy, are rising, energy carriers, fuel and lubricants. All this threatens the stable functioning of Ukrzaliznytsia, “said the minister.
Earlier, UZ said grain exports by rail had reached a peak.
