“Deoligarchization. This term is talked about by many in the gas market, but here in Ukraine, it has been dominated by the group of oligarch Firtash for almost two decades. Now it will end,” Vitrenko said.
According to him, now almost all household consumers – 12.4 million or 97.6% – receive gas directly from Naftogaz.
“There is no mediator between us in the form of the Firtash group, which has never been a real supplier, but an intermediary who does not carry the risks that real suppliers usually carry, in the European sense of the word,” Vitrenko explains. .
He added that after the government’s decision to transfer the oblgas to the Regional Gas Company in Naftogaz, they will soon be transferred to NJSC.
“It’s actually more than 60% in the gas distribution or transportation market,” Vitrenko summed up.
It will be recalled that in May the court transferred 26 regional gas companies to the government. Many years of illegal activity caused damage to the state amounting to 1.488 billion hryvnias, the State Bureau of Investigation said at the time.
Later, it was learned that the Cabinet of Ministers had handed over to Naftogaz the arrested gas companies in the region.
