The Swedish packaging giant makes seven out of ten cartons of milk and juice and sells its products worldwide.
The National Trade Council of Sweden has banned packaging giant Tetra Pak from importing its products into the Russian Federation. On Sunday, June 12, the newspaper Dagens Nyheter reported.
It was noted that the council made this decision as part of the fifth package of European Union sanctions against Russia, when it banned the export of cardboard, paper and paint on the territory of the Russian Federation.
Two weeks ago, Tetra Pak asked the Swedish authorities to allow exports to Russia on “humanitarian grounds”.
In addition, the company said that abandoning the Russian market may not bring the result expected by the West, as Russia will gain “access to technologies that are not currently available.”
“What Tetra Pak said and the case study as a whole does not show with sufficient force that export and delivery are necessary for humanitarian reasons,” Tetra Pak said in a response to a request.
It is learned that the company produces seven out of 10 packages for milk and juice.
Recall that Japan has updated the list of goods prohibited from being delivered to the Russian Federation.
