Members of Congress Apologize to Trump After Jan. 6, Committee Says –

Lawmaker Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), Vice chair of the House committee investigating the Capitol uprising, said the committee will provide evidence that many Republican lawmakers have apologized to former President Donald Trump since Jan. 6.

At the prime-time hearing Thursday, Cheney said lawmaker Scott Perry (RPA) contacted the White House a few weeks later on Jan. 6 to ask for the president’s pardon. He said many other congressmen are trying to “forgive their role in trying to overthrow the 2020 election.”

Perry denied Cheney’s statement on Twitter on Friday, calling it an “utter, shameless and stupid lie.”

The idea that I asked the President to forgive me or the other member of Congress was an absolute, shameless and pointless lie.
