Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made his superhero debut in the trailer for his upcoming DC Comics film “Black Adam”.
The film tells the story of an anti -hero of the same name who – after nearly 5,000 years in prison – became free to “bring out his unique form of justice in the modern world”. According to the trailer description.
Johnson expressed interest in character play in 2007 and will appear in his first DC Extended Universe 2019 superhero film “Shazam!”, A film about Black Adam’s enemy. However, these plans were thwarted in favor of Johnson’s character spin film.

“Black Adam” marks one of the superhero films expected in 2022 starring Johnson. He also plans to play Superman’s crypto dog in the upcoming movie “DC League of Super-Pets”.
“Black Adam” was directed by Jaum Colette-Serra, who last year shot “Jungle Cruise” with Johnson. In an interview with Variety, Colette-Sera called Black Adam “the dirty Harry of superheroes” in reference to Clint Eastwood’s 1971 thriller.
