Today Ukraine has excessive construction capacity, which makes it possible to increase exports to Europe.

According to this year’s results, Ukraine could receive up to 1.5 billion euros in revenue from electricity exports. This was stated by Olena Zerkal, Adviser to the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, reports Interfax-Ukraine on Wednesday, June 8th.

“We can say that by the end of the year, under all normal circumstances, we will be able to earn somewhere around 1.5 billion euros,” he told Suspіlny.

According to Zerkal, in the conditions of the military aggression of the Russian Federation, the demand for electricity within Ukraine is significantly reduced. Today the country has excessive development capacity, making it possible to increase exports to Europe.

Recall that Ukraine was disconnected from the energy system of Russia and Belarus on February 24 – the day of the Russian invasion. On March 16, Ukraine was connected to the European energy system.

Earlier on Wednesday, it was learned that Europe had authorized the export of Ukrainian electricity.
