One of the students, who survived a school shooting in Texas on Tuesday, said he avoided the murder because the perpetrator thought he was already dead.
Samuel Salinas, 10 years old, came out with “Good morning AmericaFriday and said he started his day studying like everyone else before everything changed.
“It was a normal day until my teacher said we were in a difficult situation,” Samuel said. “And then there were some shots in the window.”
A gunman entered Samuel’s fourth class, closed the door and told the students, “You will all die.”
He then fired and shot the teacher before shooting the children.
“I think he was targeting me,” Samuel said, adding that he thought the bullet had hit a chair. When the lips hit her thigh and hit her leg, she was trying to look incapable.
“I pretended not to fire,” he said, and said other classmates did the same.
Once a student’s cellphone rang and a gunshot was heard as the girl tried to silence him. Police then intervened with guns and chased the surviving children out of the room, next to the corpses of a dead teacher and classmates.
“There’s blood on the ground,” Samuel said. “And there are children […] It’s full of blood. “
The boy said he had nightmares about the kill and the hunt and hoped they would continue.
“When there’s a lock, I’m really scared,” he said.
Samuel said he looks forward to reuniting with the other students who survived the hunt. “I’ll stay home and rest.”
