Federal Agents Reportedly Raid Uvalde School After Local Police Told Him to Wait –

Federal agents raided Wawald Robbie Elementary School 30 minutes after local police told them to wait to stop the gunman from killing 19 children and two teachers, the force told NBC News on Friday.

They rescued child survivors who had gathered, a U.S. customs and border patrol official told the Post.

Texas Department of Public Security Director Stephen McCrom said Friday that Peter Arendo, the Chief of Police of the Consolidated Independent School District, banned at least 19 officers from entering the school because the gunman fired for at least an hour.

Arendondo believes the killer barricaded himself and the children were not in danger, McCrom told a news conference.

Federal officials said agents from BORTAC, the Tactical Division for Customs and Border Protection and ICE Internal Security Investigations arrived at the school from 12:15 p.m. on the day of the hunt. McCrom also said Friday that two students at the school called 911 multiple times in the hunt and asked for help. Both survived, he said.
