Due to the war, the level of gas production this year could drop by 3-6%. According to experts – up to 16 billion cubic meters.

“Naftogaz had growth before the war: since the end of last year, we reversed the trend and began to increase production. Because of the war, it began to fall by 3-4-5%. For the year, we predict that there will be a decrease of 3-6%, but in current trends, it is certainly not even 10%, “he said.

Vitrenko said he sees no reason for private companies to reduce production, despite the fact that gas exports are now closed.

“We, as a major player in this market, understand that the price set here, especially, where we buy gas from private companies, is higher than the maximum rent and all production costs there is no basis for private companies, there is no way to reduce production, but vice versa.I am not talking about patriotism, because gas production taxes are very important for the country, as well as energy freedom , “said the head of Naftogaz.

In general, market participants predict that this year gas production will be at least 16 billion cubic meters. m compared to 19.8 billion cubic meters. m in 2021 (a decrease of 2.2%).

Recall that during the war, the authorities increased the rent for gas production. Excess income starting at $ 401/ths. cube m, will be calculated at a higher rate, which is 2.2 times more for old wells, and three times more for new ones.
