Ukraine has stopped the transfer of natural gas to Europe through the occupied GIS Sohranivka in the Lugansk region since May 11.
Ukraine stopped receiving the full amount of payments for Russian gas transit due to the closure of GIS Sokhranivka. On Wednesday, May 25, Reuters reports with reference to the head of Naftogaz Yuriy Vitrenko.
When asked whether Ukraine accepts payments for Russian gas transportation, Vitrenko replied “not in full.”
At the same time, according to Reuters, Gazprom has not yet commented on this situation.
As a reminder, on May 10, the GTS Operator of Ukraine declared force majeure for the receipt of gas for transit through the Sokhranovka GIS station, referring to the fact that it can not conduct operational and technological control in Novopskov compressor station.
Later, the Ukrainian operator confirmed the facts of the theft of transit gas. This happened in the territories of the Luhansk region, which were temporarily captured by the Russian occupiers.
In the days that followed, the gas was carried only by Sudzha GIS. At the same time, in a few days, transit volumes dropped below 50 million cubic meters.
