“The aggressor is trying to create a food crisis by violating the possibilities of Ukrainian exports. It is provoking a migration crisis, forcing millions of Ukrainians to seek asylum in European countries. it uses energy resources as a hybrid weapon, which is already leading to a sharp rise in inflation in the world, ”Shmyhal said.
He cited the IMF’s forecast of a slowdown in economic growth this year for 143 countries, which make up 86% of world GDP.
“Global growth, according to the IMF, will slow from approximately 6.1% in 2021 to 3.6% in 2022 and 2023. The head of government stressed that all this are the consequences of the war unleashed by Russia,” he said. said the message.
At the same time, Shmygal noted that the Ukrainian banking and energy system is working stably, and the tax and credit incentives introduced by the government allow part of the business to continue work.
At the same time, the monthly budget deficit of Ukraine is approximately $ 5 billion.
“Today we call on the G7 countries to provide Ukraine with immediate funding for its operating budget needs. We need at least $ 15 billion for the next three months to meet these needs. For us, it is as valuable as the weapons you provide to fight Russia’s aggression ”, Shmyhal addressed the G7 representatives.
Earlier it was reported that the G7 countries plan to provide Ukraine with a financial assistance package of 15 billion euros.
And the European Commission announced its intention to approve a plan for the reconstruction of Ukraine after the war. Ukraine will also receive new EU macro-financial assistance in the amount of 9 billion euros.
