Buffalo Shooter Plans to Kill Another Store Immediately If Not Stopped: Police –

The firefighter hit just after noon in front of a police recruitment center in Tops, where he killed 10 people.

“He will get in the car and continue to walk on Jefferson Avenue and so will the commissioner,” the commissioner said.

His description is similar to parts of a 180-page racist document allegedly written by Peyton Gendron, stating that the attack was intended to intimidate all non-white and non-Christian people and leave the country. The federal government is still working to verify the authenticity of the document.

The 18-year-old Gendron traveled approximately 200 miles (320 kilometers) from his home in Conquerin, New York, to Buffalo to carry out the attack.

Law enforcement announced Sunday that New York State Police soldiers were called to Gendron High School in June to report that a 17-year-old teenager had made threatening statements.

The revelation raised doubts that his meeting with police and the mental health system was another missed opportunity to put a potential mass shooter under the control of closer law enforcement, seek help, or make sure he has no access to weapons.

Gendron was threatened with shooting as he graduated from high school in the Concepcion Suskehana Valley, said a law enforcement spokesman who spoke on condition of anonymity. The officer was not allowed to speak publicly about the investigation.

Gramaglia said Gendron had no further contact with law enforcement after the mental health assessment that led to his hospitalization within a day and a half.

“No one called. No one called to complain, ”Gramaglia said. He said the threat was “general” and had nothing to do with race.

New York is one of the few states that has enacted “Red Flag” laws. In recent years, efforts have been made to prevent mass poaching by identifying people who show signs of danger to themselves or others.

These laws allow law enforcement, a person’s family, or, in some cases, medical professionals or school officials to go to courts to temporarily seize a person’s firearm or restrain an individual. to buy a weapon.

Federal law prohibits people from possessing a firearm if a judge determines they have a “mental disability” or have been forcibly transferred to a psychiatric facility. Examination alone will not lead to a ban.

It’s unclear whether officers used “red flag” regulations after the high school incident. Police and prosecutors did not mention details of the incident and did not say when Gendron purchased the weapon used in the fatal attack.
