CANBERRA, Australia (AP) – Australian singer Nick Cave has confirmed the death of his son Jethro Lazenby at the age of 31.
“It’s so sad that I can confirm that my son, Jethro, is dead,” rock band frontman Nick Cave and Bad Seds said Tuesday.

Model, rapper, actress and photographer, Lazenby is the son of Cave to model Bo Lazenby and was born in Melbourne in 1991.
He was the eldest of Cave’s four children, all boys.

Jethro Lazenby, who used the name Jethro Cave to help with his modeling career, was found dead a day after he was released from prison last week.
Lazenby’s body was found at the Melbourne Motel on Friday afternoon, police said in a statement.
The cause of his death will be determined by a forensic expert. Police said he was a victim of the crime.
He has been in custody since attacking his mother in a Melbourne home fight on March 7 and left bruises and bleeding, according to Melbourne newspaper The Herald Sun.
He pleaded guilty to unlawful assault and violating a court order. He was released from pre-trial detention on strict bail on Thursday, the newspaper reported.
The magistrate ordered him to treat himself with drugs and avoid contact with his mother. He is set to return to court in June to be convicted of assault and store theft.
Lazenby was arrested in 2018 for assaulting his girlfriend.
Last month, his lawyer told the magistrate that his client had a long -standing diagnosis of schizophrenia.
Lazenby told London’s Evening Standard in 2012 that he was 7 or 8 when he first met his famous father. Cave told British newspaper The Guardian in 2008 that he had always regretted the lack of contact with his son in early childhood.
