The power plant ran out of coal, its supply was impossible due to fighting and work.
The Zaporozhye thermal power plant, located in the occupied Energodar, has stopped work due to lack of coal. This was announced on Thursday, May 5, by the mayor of the city Dmitry Orlov.
“Unfortunately, this is a forced step – the company has run out of coal. And there is no way to adjust its regular supply. This is due to both the work in our city and the logistical difficulties due to the ongoing fighting in southern Ukraine, destroyed infrastructure, bridges and railway sites, “he said.
Power plant personnel were temporarily transferred to forced downtime.
“Stopping the work of ZaTPP will not affect the city population in terms of providing public services. The light, heat and hot water supply to Energodar will be and will be transferred to ZAPP. But it is possible that the temperature of the hot water will drop water to some degree. This is the result of the work of the “liberators” at Energodar. One of the many examples of destruction and devastation of all they can reach, “Orlov said.
Earlier it was reported that the occupiers were forbidding the leaders of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant to leave the city, including business officials.
At the same time, now Energodar residents can be evacuated by their transportation to Zaporozhye.
