On Sunday going to the lake the ships encountered a barrel containing human remains that, according to the disfigured nature of the metal drum, had existed there for decades.
“My husband heard a woman screaming and then he went and found the body in a very shattered 50-gallon drum,” said Shona Holster, a Las Vegas resident. Told in News 3. “Found a man almost to the bone, except for the appearance of some of his shirts and belts.”
The discovery prompted National Park Service Rangers to search the area to help the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department recover the remains.
Photos from the site show a rusty barrel partially submerged in mud, about a foot from the current level of the lake.

“I think anyone can understand that there are probably a lot more corpses lying in the lake,” he said. “It’s just a question of whether we can bring them back.”
The level of lakes in the country’s largest reservoir has dropped due to the destruction of the region’s megacities, the driest in at least 1,200 years. Last week, water announced the original lake valve in 1971:
